The Peace Learning Centre is looking for an experienced teacher to teach kindergarten. The students are Rohingya refugees who are striving to learn their ABCs and 123s. We would like a Malaysia-qualified teacher who can teach Bahasa Malay, English, basic math, coloring, singing, drawing, how play with respect, and how to learn. The philosophy is one of loving discipline. No corporal punishment. The teacher will help craft curriculum and standards.
Qualifications: A diploma/degree in education is preferred. Will consider SPM qualification.
Compensation: RM 2000 per month.
Schedule: 5 days a week, 8:00am to 2pm every day, or 30 hours a week. The school day is 8:30-1pm. Extra hours are for planning and working with the other teachers to coordinate curriculum.
Funding: The Rohingya Refugee Education Fund (of the USA) will provide funds from direct donations collected from private citizens and businesses all over the world.
Duties: We are looking for someone who can teach kindergarteners and who is willing to develop curriculum.
The end goal: To prepare students to take the US SATs or ACTs, and gain admission and scholarships to Universities.
